A Hybrid Card Challenge
Had a few reasons lately to need some cards, I have to admit that although once just a card marker, cards don’t really rock my boat much. However when presented with a challenge to make one or given a great kit or template, my fire is lit a little and I quite enjoy it.
Last weekend over the NSD Prima crop party there were a couple of card challenges. Andrea, my friend and card maker extraordinaire set a challenge to make a shaped card so I set about trying to do just that. I had this bright idea to make a butterfly shaped card and of course that presented a problem as it needs a solid edge to stand upright. I got around that by printing the butterfly shape and then mounting it onto a clear plastic sheet, the book binding kind.
It worked a treat, then I just set about embellishing with a silver Signo pen, some glitter, an crochet flower and a stamped sentiment from ‘Stampin Up’. Job done. I adore this and the other butterflies found in this gorgeous kit from Weeds and Wildflowers. The kit was previously available at Prima Hybrid but is no longer however I just checked and it still is at WW itself.
Hope you had a good weekend, my Friday plans were a right off, Saturday was exhausting and Sunday was recovery, back to work to day, oh joy ;)
Until later xx ….
