Sunshine
The sunshine has been beautiful here these last few days, really glorious. I so miss the sun and its warmth and we get so little of it usually here in Scotland its a BIG deal when it happens.
Our planned holidays this coming summer come drifting into mind and more than ever I am looking forward to the break. Our recent spring break was great (barring my injury which still plagues me a little) but to spend more time in the sun will be wonderful.
My Scottish blue skin needs some caring for granted but I can cope haha!
Last week over at the Gina Miller Designs, one of my most favourite places for digital kits and elements, Kate Hadfield and Gina Miller released this collaboration kit ‘Caribbean Sunrise’. My affiliation to Kate through the Lilypad meant I got to play with it :D
Whilst I am not off to the Caribbean I am going to spend 2 of my 3 weeks by the sea in warmer climbs so I set about creating a planner for the arrangements. Getting 6 of us and all our luggage to 3 locations takes a little planning.
An array of brightly coloured envelopes trimmed across the top make perfect pockets to hold all those plans and notes for our trip. I don’t know quite how I managed to amass such a collection of coloured envelopes but they were perfect for this project.
My ‘Bind It All’ came out once again (what an inspired purchase that was) and some fibres that needed to be used.
The collab kit contained so many elements it was really difficult to chose what to use! This ribbon fish is so very cool it got a starring roll.
Page pebbles from goodness knows where found a use as well as some epoxy letter stickers. The alphabet included in the kit was used for ‘Holiday’ and then had some glossy accent treatment.
I also added a glitter sand strip down the journal edges so it sure does feel very much like my trip by the sea.
I don’t know how these wonderfully talented designers keep doing but they do. These kits are just amazing and print out beautifully.
So now to load the journal with all my notes and plans and have no excuse for losing that vital booking reference number or anything else as important. Now I think I need to make another to act as a journal during the holiday and I am sure another stunning kit is just around the corner from which I can do just that!
Until later xx ….

This little book is wonderful……. maybe I might have to buy a “bind it all” after all????? I love the way you have used envelopes as pages so you can store lots of extra’s in the book. It would also make a great book for planning a wedding or a Party.
