31 out of 31 Completed
Whoohooo! Can’t believe I pulled this off. 31 brand new layouts, not old ones, new ones for 2008. I have learned so much during January its frightening and its had its rewards (more on that to follow) A lot were digital and by no means a cop out in scrapping terms for me. I have spent the same amount of time, in some cases more, on these layouts as I would have doing paper ones. Its been a great learning period. The hybrids have been really fun to do. Merging digital and physical products into one project is quite challenging I think on layouts. Cards I can pull off in a heartbeat but getting a 12 x 12 right is definitely more tricky.
This hybrid was an inspiration challenge on the Prima Hybrid forums based on a stunning layout by one of their mega talented Flower Girls, Jess Gordon.
The weather has been dire here and very little light available so not the best capture of the 12×12.
Digital stripe paper and swirl from the ‘Certain Panache’ kit by Carrie Stephens at Prima Hybrid
A faded copy one of my favourite baby pics merged into white background. Striped patterned paper strip added and then printed onto 12×12 white Bazzil. Then I printed the swirl, cut it out and edged with tiny micro beads in bronze. Added a few turquoise bugle beads and a bronze bead in the centre. Threaded the blue fibre through a lovely square glass bead I had been saving. Bit of ribbon with another bronze bead and it was done. Corner stamp brushes on photos by 7 Gypsies. The small photos are inch squares. Bubbles are PS brushes, source unknown.
Now more than ever I am really grateful for my birthday gift of an A3 printer. Printing my own papers is fun but I have it on good advice that maybe if I am going to continue do these types of layouts in numbers that a laser printer for the paper printing would be far more economical than my inkjet. Mulling that one over now
Much more to do so off I go…
Until later xx….
