Finished Another
Well I got back to it and finished this Fatherhood album as part of the recent classes from her “Worth a Thousand Words’ I thought I really had to finish what I started before I start something new and its been sitting here staring at me for well over a week now half done.I scanned and printed (norty but effective) one of the sheets of Elsie Toby papers onto acetate to make a binding cover for the front of this album. I used 7 Gypsies 97% stickers Fatherhood throughout. I made the back and front covers from chipboard sheets and its all wrapped up in a Bind-It-All wire. The metal clasp is a magnetic one from Basic Grey.
“Its admirable for a man to take his son fishing but there’s a special place in heaven for a man who takes his daughter shopping”.“A Dad carries pictures where his money used to be”.
“Few things are harder to put up with than the annoyance of a good example”
“I’m so glad when Daddy Comes home”.
“My Hero”.
I’m so glad when Daddy Comes home”.“Small boys become men through the influence of Big men who care about small boys”.
“The best teachers of humanity are the lives of great men”.
“Fatherhood is a full-contact sport”.
“Nothing is as strong as gentleness. Nothing is so gentle as real strength”.
A Truly rich man is one whose children run into his arms when his hands are empty”.
“Strength has a million faces”.
So many of these quotes suit this album, so many are true. The children all helped journal the opposing pages. The girls wrote this opposite the first page in this entry:
Its hard when you have Dad who spends half his time in a foreign country or in the air between destinations but it helps when you understand why and when you can appreciate him when he comes home. We are blessed that the children have always “run into his empty arms’ as he crosses the doorstep. Must be nice to be worshipped so much for not being around hahah!
To his credit he spends lots of quality time with them when he is here. They go everywhere together, even if its just to the supermarket. Grass cutting is a family affair too and its Dad who takes them swimming and to the park. I know many Dads who don’t do half of what he does for these kids and they are at home every night after work. The real sufferance is mine when he is gone but I have a journal planned for that subject so we shall see how it comes out.
Until later xx …
