Drying Out
No, not me from alcohol (I wish) but my house from grotty radiator water YUK! On Saturday afternoon Roz came over with her Vax machine in hand and promptly sucked litres of water from my soggy downstairs carpet. Upstairs there was not a lot to suck up as it had all made it way downstairs. The carpets will need replacing and I tell you now, I am not having anymore radiators replaced in this house. 4 have burst in the 20 months we have lived here. I am having under floor heating installed. We were going to trial it in a room downstairs, that had already been arranged but to hell with that I am having it installed upstairs in that bedroom. That will also free up a long section of wall for storage/drawers so I am pleased at that. You have to find the silver lining in every cloud eh?
Roz had planned to come over on Saturday night to sit with the children so Andrew and I could attend my Godparents Ruby Wedding. We duly did that and I smiled sweetly and I struggled to remember the names on the distant friends of the family and even some relatives haha! We stayed a few hours and headed back here for around 11PM as we were both so tired after so little sleep Friday night and Roz had Ben with her who needed home to bed too. I am very grateful Roz for your help Saturday and in particular your hard work in turning Nicholas around and getting him on your side. Its an art form and we know who good you are in all things ‘Arty’, Thank you!
Sunday I went to the rescheduled Craft Heaven Crop. There were just a few of us but its was nice to be out and away from the soggy rooms at home. I got some time consuming titles made for a DC class and did Janet Hanson’s class kit, well my version of it. I did not have a suitable picture for this with me so finished it of last night. From the scraps Janet had also created a second page and last night I had a go at my own scraps page, could not resist.
I have to say I rather like this one haha! I stamped and inked had a fun hour after shaking of a day long headache while Andrew watched TV. So although it was not the best of weekends, it was not the worst and everything damaged can be replaced so it will all be fine. I do just wonder how many house disasters we must endure at the address before we can finnaly call it our ‘Home’…..
Until later xx …
P.S. MJ - I think I am heading to Scrappers Paradise too
P.P.S - Thanks for all the messages of support this weekend, it was comforting to know someone outside my immediate family loop cared.1
