Scrappin Diva.JPGWell May brought with it the chills and the rain and huge black clouds this weekend. Yesterday is was almost hail…. twice! Whits th’t aboot?

So it was as well that I had the Grandparents and Andrew on hand to entertain the brood and in the afternoon they all set of for a visit to the newly refurbished Glasgow Art Gallery and Museum. Now I do want to go myself but I was in great need of some peace and ‘me’ time.

I had a bit of a list of things I had planned to do but then the Design Collective NSD Challenges caught my attention and off I went down that road instead. You would think I was 12 years old sometimes LOL!

I made this tiara for a challenge and I made sure that it fits/Is wearable so I can take it out with me on up and coming crafty events haha, nutter!

Splash6x12.JPGOne of the challenges that really caught my eye was having a go at the new trend of 6×12. I had no idea if this would suit me at all but I really enjoyed it. I thought that I would make a double, a top and a bottom 6×12 so that I could fit them into one 12×12 page protector. This way I would not be left with a odd shaped layout to store on its own.

Squelch6x12.JPGI love these pictures of Nicholas playing in the puddles and mud pools so it was a perfect run of pictures to reduce in size and get down on the page.

My Life - 1.jpgNext up was ‘Make it meaningful’. Now a couple of weeks ago I thought about this layout and this challenge inspired me to do it. I am so aware that I live my life day to day always working towards something else, needing, wanting more but in reality I am very fortunate, I have a husband and family who love me, a comfortable place to live and we are never hungry.

My Life - 2.jpgIts so easy to lose sight of all you have in the quest for something more. I love my life and I rarely think beyond the day to day hum drum. So this page for my ‘Book of Me’ gets down on paper that I am grateful for all I have and really don’t need anything other than what I have right now.

I had lots of fun with my sewing machine and lovely hand made papers from Kates Kloths that I have left from an order I placed last summer. I have dipped into these quite often and need more now. They are really lovely papers. They also do a range of hand dyed ribbon, threads and fabrics, gorgeous!

My Life - 3.jpg

Nicholas has had a wonderful adventure this weekend, he has been sleeping in his Grandparents Caravan out in the garden. First night was a disaster and he was brought in crying at midnight, poor wee soul. He had been so excited I think it all got too much for him. But the wee fighter he is wanted to try again on Saturday night and he did just that and made it all night. He was so pleased with himself. It was no surprise that he was back out there again last night. He has had a ball.

I was going to just chill and sit in front off the TV last night for a while, I was tired and worn out but the TV is so rubbish I found myself looking for something else quick and simple to do, just for the hell of it.Heart.JPG So I went for the ‘Art from the Heart’ challenge and no, I don’t think my brain quite computes what ‘quick’ means sometimes. I got carried away as usual and this wall hanging was this result. I played with all kind of medium, crackling, glossing and inking my way through the night. Lovely travel papers from Chronicles and K&Co, tumbled glass pieces, 7 Gypsies wax seals and postage tabs, all manner of bits and bobs, Just my kind of fun.

Heart close2.JPGThat was frivolous  and way better than rubbish TV!

Today I am a bit mushy in the head and have some household chores to take care of YUK!

Enjoy your bank holiday Monday whatever you do today.

Until Later xx …..
