Mixed Feelings Monday

First, Happy Birthday James. Another family birthday today, this time of year is made around here. James had his ’special’ day yesterday really. He had Ben, his friend, Riz’s son, stay over Saturday night and then Andrew took them to Xscape to climb, do a Arial walk and fan drop yesterday afternoon. They loved it! We then all met for dinner and stuffed our faces. Roz joined us for desert and we all (the whole restaurant) sang Happy Birthday to James as they paraded his cake out for him. He was thrilled.
We had to do it this way for two reasons. One, Ben had to be back in school today, James does not as we have an in service day at school today and two, Chelsea was leaving this morning for an outdoor adventure week with the school. So the only time we could al be together to celebrate was yesterday.
James got up this morning and opened his cards and gift as normal and yes he got a phone as well and do I think he will have it/still be working/ not confiscated in a months time? ermm…that would be NO but what the hang, I am an eternal optimist really and hope he proves me wrong lol!
He has gone swimming with Andrew and the rest now and I have some peace. After the mad packing last night for Chelsea and the early busy rise this morning I am pooped and its only noon!
This is my class layout for the Design Collective mini class from Karen. I don’t often really like things I do terribly much but I do like this. I think the photograph makes me hold it that bit closer to my heart and it seems right to put it on here today. It was a lovely class to do and I really enjoyed it.
Nicholas and James have a lovely relationship and a special bond despite the age difference. I hope it is always this way.
So I waved goodbye to Chelsea this morning as she smiled and beamed back from the bus. I have to admit to being a little choked to see her go but I know how much she is going to love this week. Whitney was not pleased to see her go either and Nicholas was a bit confused by the whole thing. I think James and Andrew were quietly celebrating haha!
So I am a bit out of sorts now and have a ton of chores that need doing as well as a class kit. Think I shall put the kettle on before I do anything.
Until later xx…
