Happy Birthday Chelsea
Today my eldest daughter turned 12. What a little lady she is growing up to be. These last few months have been amazing watching her mature that extra mile. She is trying so hard to be ‘grown up’ and much of me wishes she would just take her time. However I can’t complain, she is a good girl and tries her very best at everything she does, now I would not change that for the world.
To celebrate her on this day I made a Lippy Chick Flop book with pictures I took on Easter Sunday of her. We went out in the garden and got some lovely shots of her (I think lol) She is not easy to photograph, she finds it awkward and screws her face a lot but out of the many pictures there were a few that truly represent her well. This book and all the other wonderful DT books can be seen on the Lippy Chick Website.
The little lady is also a cricut cut shape, that one is from the ’Beyond Birthdays’ cartridge. There are tag pockets between each of the pages, these books are so versatile that it makes it easy to come up with different ways to do things. This book is also the first one to be used ‘back to front’ so to speak lol! 5 and 6 see a little hand sewing around the edges and the use of these mega cute bee brads. No idea where I got them but here they now live. I added tabs to each page from punched out circles which I pushed through from the back o the book. I just cut the slits with a craft knife and it makes it easy to turn the pages which as I said are back to front from the origional design lol. The last two pages see more fancy brads and eyelets used (yeah) and as I was finishing this page the other morning some new stamps I ordered from Banana Frog arrived and yes I had to find a way to use them right there and then, nutter, so the postage ensemble on the last page is just that, an excuse to use the new ‘Postage’ stamps, had to get the date in view somehow So that is my birthday book for my girl. She loves it and that is all that matters. It was most enjoyable to make, good or bad, used up some half used papers, brads and eyelets that had never seen the light of day. A good result I thought. Have a wonderful day sweetheart, you deserve it. Mummy xx Until later xx ….. ![]()
CoverFor this book cover I got the sewing machine out and around the edges I went after a coat of Jo Sonjas ‘Opal Dust’ These flowers are cut from felt and secured with a brad.![]()
Our Young Lady - Front PageThe front page of ‘Our Young Lady’ sports Rouge de Garance - Fluer de Taire papers (throughout), Cricut cut title (Opposites Attract) and crakle Glace.![]()
Pages 1-2My favourite picture (at the top) finds its way onto page 1 along with a few prima lowers, some brads, eyelets, ribbon and stickles.![]()
Pages 3 - 4 Pages 3 & 4 host more eyelets (how good it was to use these green ones up, had them for an age), some embroidery thread, more stickles and a brad. I love this blouse she chose last week on a shopping trip, it suits her and a change from the wishy washy lilac and purples she usually chooses LOL!
