Winter Snow CJ EntryA change in the weather brought snow for parts of the UK this week but not for us, that would have been nice. Instead we have had severe frosts. The sun came with it most of the week and that was good but yesterday was a black, cold, sad Friday. I was not feeling at all myself and it was bitter outside and dark. I hated it. I was feeling a bit sad to top it all off, there were many reasons for that one of them was the news that my local bricks and mortar craft shop, Craft Heaven was closing its doors on the 31st March.
Carol had called me the night the night before to tell me, I was not surprised, I knew it was coming but it made me sad all the same. We had talked often of the ups and downs of running the shop many times and over recent months she expressed a desire to stop and just continue with the web shop and a few other projects. I know this was the right decision for her and her Mum. I know this was to benefit Carols young daughters but I still can’t help felling sad. I have loved going in over this last year and hand picking stash, sharing tea and stories and although I know that our friendship is now well grounded and that we will have much more time to do things together and with our families, I could not help but feel a loss.
Carol said that all this time she wanted to be me in an odd way, having the time to scrap and get involved in projects that because of the shop commitments could not. I have wanted to be her. I wanted to be involved in the whole industry, have control over stock and kits and talk ‘crafting’ to customers.
The grass is always greener on the other side eh?
On top of this I had some concerns about other things/people/plans that I let get me down because I was already in that ‘feeling sorry for myself state’. Not a good day then.
Today is a better day. New plans, new projects, lots to look forward too and as for my concerns over other issues, I have a plan to deal with those as well.

I wish…I completed a CJ entry yesterday. Lots of stamping and embossing of various sorts. Half the entry I like and half I don’t, ho hum, such is life eh? I also completed and a double layout for a class, well, the trial run anyway. It all worked out and so today I will begin to put the class together proper. I have one more class to do this week ahead and lots of little things to look for that will go on my Altered Printer Drawer project. Talking of which, I am now in overflow on printer drawers. Could not believe it. My Uncle found 3, yes 3, drawers after talking with a gentleman from the church. I now I have 5 drawers, One being made, one I bought and 3 gifted LOL! Carol is going to join in and alter a drawer with me so I am pleased at that. We have a project to work on alongside one another, now that will be good. Still not looked at this weeks BPS class, must do that today as well as catch up on line with the news and gossip. So little time…….
So today I wish peace for all. No ups or downs, just an even keel kind of weekend. Its half term and the kids are now off for a long weekend. Some snow would be good, just don’t let it rain!
Until later xx ……..
