The Lassies!
Last night a lovely lassie sat for me at a photo training shoot. I had a few issues with my lighting and two lovely chaps from the camera club offered to come over and help me figure it out and they did. Prob solved in nthe set up within minutes! Roz came over to sit for me and was just brilliant! She even managed to glean a wealth of info for herself about her own new camera so it was good for us all.
Thank you so much for being such a good sport hun, it was really appreciated. These pictures are near enough ‘as is’ on the night and the full versions are even better. I hope you like them. There are many many more. Thanks for letting me post a few up here MWAH XX
So much can be learned from nights like this, informal, a good laugh and a friend to keep me company. It was brilliant and even though everyone was out late I get the impression that everyone enjoyed it.
Tonight I saw the boys again as it was our Burns Supper at the club. I had the task of delivering a toast to the Lads in reply to the Lassies toast.
I found this quite hard to write as I don’t know a lot of them very well. I did not know who was delivering the toast to the Lassies or its content, tough call!
When I finally met John tonight he offered to let me read through his speech in a bid to help me in my reply. Better late than never I thought. It was very good and was almost perfect for my reply. I had written 3 versions ‘just in case’, just in case A) I got cold feet and need a quick get out clause B) A sweet version in case I felt my near the bone comments were too near the bone and C) I panicked and doubted my funny photography quips & rhyming reply were not funny enough. But I need not have worried, John had come at more or less the same angle as me so plan A went ahead.
Result, I heard the laughs and saw the smiles and even if it were all fake and the thanks and compliments afterwards too, it got me though. Even the ’seasoned’ invited guest had something to say that was most complimentary (as I was sitting next to him, at the top table no less, [I near fainted when I saw that lol] , I suppose he had no choice either;)
All in all it was a nice evening, with lovely food and great service all round. I shall no add this experience to my catalogue of public address as a done deal!
No proper scrapping today as I was too busy fretting about my toast lol! I have almost finished a CJ on distressing techniques but it will have to wait until tomorrow afternoon now to get finished as I have my PC Passport class in the morning.
Can my brain really cope with all this ‘learning; at my age?
Oh and Roz, you win, her name is Venus, the art doll, you will have to wait for your prize until I see you
Until later xxx……………
