and then it snowed a LOT

And it fell from 6AM until 12 Noon causing complete chaos across Renfrewshire.
Cars slipped, bumped and came to a stand still
everywhere. lorries blocked large sections of roads making them impassable. Buses were stuck on hills for hours and some children took 3 hours to get into school.
The main roads through several local villages, including mine, were at a complete standstill. Even paramedics attending the accidents were forced to walk in on foot.
All of this made the evening news on most channels, that is how bad it was.
My enrollment PC Passport class was cancelled, Schools were shut, businesses never got opened, appointments were cancelled everywhere.
Us???
We loved it!
It was a fabbaroonie day. Nicholas had the time of his life and once the girls got home at lunchtime so did they. The sledged, built and threw snow around for hours. Now that was what days like this are all about. My eldest son was unfortunately one of the many children stuck on a bus for 3 hours trying to get to school only to be turned around and sent back on arrival. That took more hours but for once a bit pf luck was on our side in as much as he had a flask of warm soup and plenty snacks for the long journeys. Once finally home at 4PM he joined in the fun for a time.

As for me I had a wonderful afternoon. Once the snow had stopped falling I packed up my camera bag and went for a long walk. I patiently waited for the late afternoon sun to peak out and took many shots of the wonderful sights around us.
Some of the shots I took, I set for up and coming competitions and projects and can’t show here just yet but I just had to share on the fun I had in this entry.
I am sorry so many people had a day from hell but glad for once it was not me, and I can’t really be sorry for that!

Last night we were all completely wrecked! Too much fresh air and exercise took its toll. I sat in front of the flaming fire content & happy. It is not very often these days come along but when they do I intend to make the most of them this year.
This morning there is a little of it left, it rained overnight, but the roads are clear and traffic is moving. School is back and normality has resumed. I do hope we get a few more days like this but without the chaos that it brought for many.
Until laterxx………..
