CJ Entry
P is for Photo’s & Photography and Playing around! This CJ entry I finished last night. The theme was ‘Things that Make me Happy’ and looking at, taking of, scrapping photo’s do just that. Seemed right to complete this entry here and now. I have been playing much over this last week with the new lights and eagerly waiting the arrival of a light cube (for items) and a second studio strobe flash.

The light cube arrived yesterday and is just fab and groovy and will do the job I 684045-619257-thumbnail.jpg

want it to do just nicely. The strobe flash arrived today and ……….it does not work!! *rolls eyes* Why oh why oh why do two things work perfectly and the third has to go and spoil the dam party? The flaming thing tripped the downstairs sockets and blew the fuses, not right for sure. I am waiting on a response from the company I bought it from so we shall see what they intend to do about it.

Anyway, I enjoyed this CJ entry and included lots of sepia prints, old and new to show my love of them all. I hope the owner likes it when it finally gets home.

I have also added another two simple pages to my Christmas Journal to keep up with my pledge to myself.

RHS of a double entry covering two days.
These two pages reflect my love of photographs and the journaling tells of the boxing day & 27th December chill time, calm play time after the Christmas Day madness. For me that was throwing the kids in front of the lights and taking my first studio shots. Great way to spend your holidays I thought heehee!

I had a play with an Ellison alpha, some patterned paper and sepia accents. These pages have a deep red rich glow to the and some lovely beads to add to the glitz. Very simple, no big deal but in real life they are kind of pretty and are home to my journaling and sample first photographs, so job done!

This last week I have worked hard and studied many books and articles on lighting etc, its a steep learning curve but much fun. Today I had to try and select some images for an internal competition at the camera club next Wednesday. If I don’t enter something I will get shot but this is not my favourite pastime. Kind of freaks me out to be honest.

I think I have four prints (maybe 5) which look half decent. My biggest problem was the printer, it seemed to be 771114-560678-thumbnail.jpg
26th Dec - Calm
out of sorts and not printing at all up to its usual standard, so and hour and a half with a bottle of spirits, a lint free cloth and some patience saw my much loved HP get a make over and what a difference it made. Add to that some new inks and good quality HP photo paper and it produced some very clear sleek prints. One black & white arty shot, one black and white portrait, one colour portrait and a landscape. These are the best I have managed yet so I am very happy. Not top standard by any means but good for me.

So I am off to watch ER on E4plus1 for some R&R as my brain is tried working now. Hope your all well xxx
