Chelsea 281206Not crossed the door since before Christmas and loved that! Vegged out BIG time and just let the kids play and watch TV. It has been so chilled its freezing.

I felt today that everything was under control once again and everything sort of tided up and looking reasonable around here so I scrapped! Shock of horrors eh?

I did take some time yesterday afternoon to do those last few craft room tidying jobs that were left over and I am pleased I did that as now I feel everything is ready to begin the next years projects whatever they may be. Nicholas 281206

The one nagging hangover was my Christmas Journal that I had to abandon after only 5 days of December. There is no way I could have continued under the circumstances and it has really bothered me. My thinking at the time was that I would wait until next year and try again but on reflection that is not the best thing for me. I have decided to march ahead and get it done during the next few weeks while everything is still fresh in my mind. This morning I did two pages and will try to carry on with this until I have it complete.

Touched base today with a few friends which was great and have made arrangements to crop here on Saturday (30th) all day. Roz is coming over *insert huge grin* and even Carol might just manage some big girl playtime YEAH! Anyone who can get here is more than welcome.

Whitney 281206This afternoon the first of two sets of  studio lights arrived. This was my main Christmas gift from Andrew and I am so thrilled with them. It took this long to get them here as I found it difficult to chose lights and spent hours researching and trying to make a good choice for a wee amateur like me.

I spent the afternoon playing and although far from perfect and with much to learn it was fun getting some shots of the kids with completely different lighting to normal. Managing to sync the lights with the camera was my major achievement of the day haha! Worked like a dream. James and Chelsea suffer from a similar affliction. The inability to keep their eyes open during flash! 9/10 shots were of the eyes shut variety, whilst Whitney and Nicholas seem to manage it just fine. Whitney is such a poser and loves the camera it was easy for her. Getting a decent shot of Nicholas was far more hit and miss and more miss than anything LOL!!

I have to work on my angles and get rid of the shadows and worked better with the softbox(diffuser) for more subtle effects. So another new journey begins and yet another steep learning curve. It keeps my brain from drying up completely and for that I am very grateful.

I hope Santa was kind to you all and you enjoyed a peaceful Christmas. As we see out these last days of 2006 it is definitely time to make plans for 2007 and get some of those dreams worked on, as after all, life is but for dreaming and you just never know what you may achieve why you do.
