Box Canvas Book

This Box Canvas Book was a class by Julie Doyle at the retreat last weekend. It was something a bit different and I was glad today when I figured out the last few tweaks and got it finished.

Box Canvas Book Inside1I used this to home photographs from April this year when, along with Grandparents, our family had a meal out together celebrating quite a few birthdays. It is not very often we all  can do this so it was a special occasion. James and Chelsea felt quite grown up as they had both had birthday’s and this was a BIG grown up night out.Box Canvas Book fully open We even had one photograph of us all together taken, very rare and coincidently, the girl who took it had a baby boy last Tuesday, so welcome to the world  little Cameron!

One of the other classes from the weekend was a star book. Although I have seen many of these I had never actually got around to making one so I was happy to be doing this class as well. It had a lovely Christmas feel to it with the lovely papers from American Crafts but they are not so Christmasy that you could not use them for something else. Jan, who took this class, had one made up with photographs from an apple picking trip and it was really lovely.

Star BookThis book won’t be stopping with me as I am doing my Christmas Journal as part of Shimelle’s class this December. This one is being gifted to someone I know will appreciate it.

It has not been the best of days for me, a mix of tiredness and frustration. I was unable to stay at Brownies until the end tonight as Andrew is at work and Nicholas got really grumpy when we got home and had a proper hissy fit :( I got so cross with him that I felt guilty. So after making amends with extra stories he is now calm and almost asleep. I am really glad the day is almost over. I have real child care problems at the moment and its just getting me down a bit.

I am going to go play with my remaining kit, the exploding box and that will sooth my weary brain for sure.
