Trouble at Mill….
Walked in on Mum yesterday and caught her puffin, no shock, knew she couldn’t do it
I said very little, there is not much left to say is there? Made mention that she may well have a few less visitors next time she ends up in hospital. I knew my brothers would be fizzin mad when they found out. When I got in from Brownies tonight all hell had broken loose. My Mum had called and told hubby that she had had a roasting from my youngest brother, Frazer about it and was mad at Stewart for telling Frazer that she was back on the cigs. My brother Stewart had also been on the phone going mad about what had been said and more so about what horrid words had been exchanged between her and Frazer.
I am sorry but by the time I got in tonight there was no way I was taking on the 3 of them and the squabbles. We had been at the High School this morning to attend a meeting about my eldest son. Then I had craft class, lunch, then I prepared for tonight and had eventually to go lay down as my head was so sore. I got up after an hour and had accounts to sort then dinner and out for 5.30.
I shall deal with them all tomorrow after I have been at the open morning at the primary school where my daughters are expecting me. I am having lunch with them in the school dinning hall too and they are so looking forward to it. I just can’t wait to re-visit the delights of school dinners!
Tonight at Rainbows and Brownies we were looking at the US Thanksgiving traditions and history. In my research I discovered that the Puritans were responsible for producing the first ever books for children. They were also the first to offer free schooling to all children. The Puritans formed the first formal School in 1635, call the Roxbury Latin School. Four years later, the first American collage was established; Harvard in Cambridge.
Interesting I thought……..
The kids tonight were mesmerised by the whole story of the Puritans and their unusual lifestyle. We did more talking and sharing on this aspect of the story than we did actually talking about Thanksgiving, I was surprised at the level of interest (and that of the other leaders and teenage girls too) so much so that we are going to re-visit this subject in the new year. You just never know what will capture the imagination and interest of children and I will never stop introducing them to the variety of subjects that fascinate me. They are not all hits but sometimes it just feels worth the effort, tonight was one of those nights. Now that is two in a row that have gone really well, next week is going be awful for sure hahah!
Night world, bed calls zzzzzzzz

Hope your visit to the open day was all your daughters hoped it would be. As for your mum, I know how you feel and there is nothing you can say to her that will change anything, sadly. Take care xx
