Just spoke to Mum on the phone from her bed and she sound just awful :(  Great thing these days are the mobile phones on wards, you can call and if it is suitable they will take the phone to the patient and you can have a word.

Mum has had the message about these phones passed to me by 4 different people in the last 2 days (typical Mum) so I thought I had better try and they were happy to put her on when I called. Once you hear the voice I think you know if things are good or not and I have a very good ear for knowing when Mum is putting it on and when she is not, today she most certainly was not. It was actually very difficult to understand some of what she said and that has never happened before. Made my heart lurch when I heard her. I suppose it did not help that she had been asleep and was trying to come around a little as well. I am not surprised she is feeling sorry for herself, I would too given what she has been though this week but the sound of her sorrow is quite heartbreaking.

The nursing staff assure me she is a little better today so I am glad I did not speak to her before now but its all relative isn’t it? They know how bad she was the other day, I don’t really the reports from my brothers vary so much.

I am heading out to Longridge to do this craft demo tonight so I have the child minder coming as early as she can and I am going to go to the hospital in Livingston first then double back to Longridge. This way at least I will have something to occupy me straight after I see her instead of an hours drive thinking about it.

I scrapped my Mum on one of my DT layouts for Jillbeans this month.684045-532150-thumbnail.jpg
30’s Child
I can show it now as November is here. Last time I was out at Mums I raided her photographs and came back with a load of them to copy and scrap. I even have a wedding photograph, she was 19 years old. Glad she had no idea what lay ahead, glad we all don’t know, we would not get out of bed in the morning if we did.Mum Wedding.jpg

Getting back to my DT stuff ,the other layout I challenged myself to do was to create a page at the other end of the scale as far as I was concerned. These beautiful papers screamed at me to turn them into heritage or vintage projects so I decided to fly off the fence and came up with a layout for my Israel album. The many pictures that need scrapping sit around me constantly and I love them all for many reasons. It was a trip I shall never forget in a year I shall never forget and this is the first of many pages I am going to do to archive my memories. 684045-532168-thumbnail.jpg
Asqa Mosque

The Asqa Mosque is found in the centre of Jerusalem, The Noble Santuary, Al-Haram al-Sharif.  It sits on the opposing side of the famous Wailing Wall and is enclosed in over 35 acres of gardens and buildings. This area takes up nearly 1/6 of the entire walled city of Jerusalem. The gold dome houses a large rock where Abraham is said to have ascended into heaven, It is also believed that the prophet Mohammed ascended, on his horse from here also. It is regarded as one of thee most important sites in Islam.

The gold dome reaches 20 meters across and 35 meters in height. It is quite a site to behold with truly beautiful examples of  architecture. Not to be ignored is the magnificent tiling on the Mosque s interior & exterior walls. A stunning building and not to be missed if you ever visit.
