BoM ‘Homework’
My brain is in hyper drive trying to prepare for the challenges that lie ahead during the Book Of Me journey on UKS next week. I have lists upon lists now of things I have had to work to remember.
Memories of music, now that caused a chuckle or 3 as I strolled down memory lane thinking of significant musical moments in my life. I told my fellow BoM?rs that my list would have to include artists such as Cliff Richard (oh how Jules will hate that lol), Depeche Mode, Barbra Striesand and of course my 4 year devotion to Will Young. Today I open a box destined for the attic that I knew held some old 7 inch singles. My kids were hooting at the thought of that bit of plastic playing music! When my turn table makes it out of our storage container, I am going to play these hahah!
I found singles by Adam and the Ants, Rick Astley, Human League, The Cure, Jason Donovan (rofl), The original Band Aid single, Sydney Youngblood, U2, Wet Wet Wet, Spandau Ballet???the list goes on. What a larf! I have a crate of LP?s somewhere too. I was more an album girl so that will be even more enlightening.
I also had a look at my bookshelf today, what does my reading material say about me? Again many of my books are still in storage but I have a shelf laden with gardening books, now that is definitely very ?me?.
Tonight found me wondering around the house looking for sign of ?Me?. What items reflect who I am? Again the kids thought I was going insane (I am already little ones). It is interesting what kind of things you place down around you, they mark your territory and show passing visitors a piece of who you are. Some things are meaningless that I possess, but among the nik naks are some gems that hold a story and that is what I am trying to capture. These are the points of interest that dig beneath the fa?ade and reveal the ?Me? inside. This is what I want to be refected in my ?Book of Me?.

How very weird, Heather. I had planned all the prompts for the week and “Signs of Me” is today’s one.
Are you ME?

No, No, not Cliff!!! arggghhhh!
In our house it was my little sister who liked Cliff. Whilst I did have a small crush on Donny Osmond (I was only 10, and he turned out pretty well), I liked the slightly ‘naughtier’ boys - Marc Bolan for example!
My music collection is as wierd as my books and my films - you’ll see when you come down! I’ll have to remember to do some of these ‘Top Tens’ for my BOM!
