Today was deemed to be the hottest day of the year in Scotland. So this mad family set of for one of my favourite beaches, to be found in Troon. I have found memories of Barassie beach and I love taking the children there.

They had a great time but it was very hot and I was glad of a wide brim hat and some sea breeze.

Nicholas was funny to watch as he stomped around splashing and covering himself in sand mud! He is such a captivating child it?s hard not to watch him constantly. We have watched all the other kids go through the same thing but there is something about Nic?

While Dad took them all for a real splash about I sat and worked on some more of the handwriting exercises in my Heidi Swapp book. I quite enjoyed the peace and shade to doodle and try and find my own scrapping font. I am so determined to overcome this handwriting phobia that I will keep going with this until I am at ease with my scribble.

Today I was not on the computer much but I have had a load of really lovely messages about the announcement today on UKS of Jilly?s (Jillybeans Scrapyard) Design team of which I am now a member. I am so thrilled I can?t tell you and today learned of the other members of the DT. Karen, my teamie from UKS is also on the DT and Pam. We join a wonderful band of scrappers and designers. I am a little scared but really looking forward to the challenge and hope I can do something really special for Jilly.

Seems not all the choices were taken so well by some on UKS and I was a bit saddened to read a closed thread of a few grumps and moans about some aspects of design teams and how they are chosen. It never occurred to me that a few people would be so aggrieved at not being on a DT that they would bite at the very people who provided the chance. Maybe I live in my own little world but it did leave me a little perplexed, the bitterness was obvious, especially when aimed at one of the most talented scappers around!! Thankfully the majority were very supportive and (no pressure eh?) I just have to live up to the job! I count myself most fortunate to be invited and I will do my very best. So thank you to Jilly and her team for selecting me and to everyone who sent their congratulations to me today. I really appreciate your support.
