Busy Bee!
Not been around UKS all week and not posted here since my brief visit on Tuesday. I have been trying desperately to catch up on jobs at home that I have ignored for months in favour for paper and glue.
I have spent too many hours in the past getting lost in web space when I should have been doing something else, so I am sticking to my own rules and trying to get the balance right.
My drawing room, which has been ? finished for 5 months *blush* is almost complete. A few little touches up paint and I can start to put it all together.
I bought a bale (35 meters) of lovely lacy edge netting the other day, it?s a long time since I have had nets hahaha! But it was very reasonably priced and I need so much of it for the public rooms in this house its scary! Both Andrew and I feel a little more exposed here, we have never had ?proper? neighbours before, or a house across the road (ok It sits with its back to us but its still there) and the windows in front rooms here span 5 meters round the bay and 3 meters in depth. A lot of window!
So I have made 4 standard curtains for the drawing room and now I am going to layer with these other curtains too. I think it will make the whole room feel much cosier. It will be next week now before I get it done; I have to wait until Andrew is at home on days off to get finished. I may well get bits and bobs done but that will be it.
Not scrapped much since last weekend but have been doing family cards and gift boxes. I have 2 tins to alter and fill. My Goddaughters birthday is in July, as is her Mum and my Mother in law. Trying to plan ahead now before the school stops and little gets done. Seems so unfair now not to be scrapping as much as I am so organised in here, and looking very swish with the new storage and supplies in place.
I have added these too my gallery though. In a bid to right the wrongs about scrapping my eldest son a bit more
And now that the Scraplift challenge is over I can share these too.

Second time around >
Could not believe the change in it!! Not seen the gallery on UKS yet but heading there right after this slooooooow entry is made (darn blogger)
My books arrived from Amazon yesterday, hardly had a minute to turn a page but I saving those for the holidays. One of them is not what I ordered. I received Creative Scrapbooks instead of Creative Journals. I find it quite good anyway so I am keeping it and re-ordering the other teehee!
On Monday at class we decorated candles and made a card with peel offs! Now I am not a huge fan of bog standard peel offs but I have to admit I quite liked what we did with them. It was more my kind of thing. I have bought more peel off shapes than anything else and this was a method of layering them. We placed them onto acetate and cut around the outside edge enabling the layering. It was quite effective. I brought the card home and added a few bits.
The candles we decorated with cut outs from napkins and used ye olde faithful mod podge. I finished one in class and brought the rest of my napkin home where I did two more to complete the set and use every flower on the napkin. Used glitter mod podge for the first time too, nice effect.
Right, must get on. Hope all who read this are well.

Hope you are feeling better, and you have been crafting up a storm! I’ve done candlemaking myself - loved it! Your craft classes sound fab - chance to try all sorts.

Forgot to say - know what you mean about something at the windows - I have voile up in my flat as well, and they do make a big difference if yo have large windows and are overlooked.
