Working with Canvas, a first!

I have had more energetic days in my life than today for sure. We all had a slow start but at least Andrew was home to help out. I took it easy this morning and Nicholas was so pleased to have his Dad home and Dad was just as pleased to spend some time with Nic.
I took advantage and retired to my little craft haven. I had been inspired to do something with canvas paper. Having never printed onto canvas I tried it out and really liked the resulting textured photograph. I had chosen another picture of James from our weekend in the lakes as mentioned yesterday. He loves hill walking, especially with his Grandparents who are avid walkers.
I decided to get my acrylic paints out, seemed appropriate with canvas in front of me, and painted a background for the picture. I then fixed the photograph and blended the edges to the background with more paint. I really liked how this looked and its not often that I truly love something as its unfolding. It needed something more and I was not for adding anything from my normal stash to it. I felt it needed uniformity, but what?
I decided to have ago at a mask and set about getting some tree shapes together which would suit. I painted over the tree mask to give the subtle outline of trees. It took a few layers to get it right for me but it was such fun! Finally added a sun image from another mask and some hand journaling (yes I said the hand word lol!) I am pleased with it as it is so very different from anything I have ever done. Lifted my day, for sure.
I am worn out tonight after hours of laundry sorting and ironing so I am heading to the land of feathers and dreams.
Night all.
