I was sitting in the garden enjoying a drink and chatting with my friend Lyn while the kids ran around spraying water over one another and jumping through the sprinkler. It was late afternoon and we had all had a busy day. It had been Gala day here in our village and we had all been out most of the day and were getting weary. It was lovely just sitting enjoying the company.

I went to turn off the outside tap when the children moved onto the next fun thing to do and oh my word what a fright I got. The tap came off in my hand and I took the full mains pressure of freezing cold water in the face! I have never seen anything quite like it. The full force spray went a couple of meters up into the air and over the fence onto the roof of my neighbour?s garage. I was beside myself trying to find out how to turn the flaming water off. My poor baby got such a fright and he was screaming, Lyn was trying everything to calm him but all he wanted was me and I was still trying to get the water off and keep everyone out the way. In the end I had to go next door to the lovely Gordon who came and helped me out. No one could find a way to turn off the water so we ended up turning it off at the mains in the street. The tap was duly fixed and the clean up operation kicked in.

Nicholas had had a fall in the morning off his changing table and crashed into the bath and floor which had brought tears to both our eyes and guilt pains right to my heart. It took as while to calm Nicholas down tonight, bless him, he got sprayed with cold water and got such a scare. I bathed him, read a story, hugged him lots and soon after he was asleep. A day to remember eh?

Last night during the add breaks in BB I completed Karen’s
(Scrapdollys) weekly class. She said it was a quick page to do and it was. I was feeling guilty about the lack of pages in my eldest sons book so the next few are likely to star him.

These photographs were taken in the Lake District in 2003. The whole of the Pearson family came together to celebrate Andrew’s Mum & Dads 40th Anniversary. Andrew’s sister and her partner Justin had brought their canoe and all who wanted got a turn out on the water. Kids loved it.
