Blinkin Blogger!
Not updated for a couple of days due to blogger being a complete pain in the *** Decided a few weeks ago that seen as I seem to love talking on endlessly to myself (ok and a few others lol) that I might as well use some valuable web space that I own to home this little gem. It?s taken Easily 2 weeks to respond to my request for a few changes on my accounts and finally after a stroppy email on Tuesday they phoned me yesterday (grovel grovel) and sorted things out. So I shall re-home this blog as soon as all the techie bits are sorted.
None of my images will upload on here today GRRR!!!! Photobucket here I come.
I trailed Typepad at the same time as I ran this blog and we just did not get along very well. My PC did not seem to like it at first, sorted that, then I found it more awkward to edit and design. Just not for me. I did like its extras bells and whistles, the photo albums were fab! Moving to my own web address and server will let me produce additional links and pages anyway so that I look forward too.
Yesterday saw me complete the RRH inspiration challenge. I was really uncomfortable with the hand written journaling. I must tackle this now before I give up altogether on the idea. Maggie (UKS) gave me the best example of why it was important to try and do this. She showed me a page that she created which included a picture of her Dad on which her Mum had written on the reverse, she included this on her layout. Since her Dad passed away all little gems hand written about him would of course seem so much more valuable and must be really extra special to have now. So my bum was kicked and a just got out a pen and wrote on it. The version below is before I scrawlled on it!
Today I have been on a spending spree (naughty girl!)
There have been a few books on my list of late that I have wanted and just not done anything about in favour of other things. So I went searching and Amazon came up trumps with quite a few.
I bought -
Step by Step Projects Decorative Journals - Donna DowneyLove Your Handwriting with Book(s) and Other and Pens/Pencils and Eraser - Heidi Swapp
The Big Picture: Scrapbooking Your Life and a Whole Lot More - Stacy Julian
Clean & Simple: Scrapbooking: The Sequel - Cathy Zielske
Designing with Type ? Various (bought this one from a sponsor on UKS)
Hoping that Heidi Swapp can help my out of my handwriting hole! Looking forward to reading the Journal ideas book as I could do with some help and ideas right now. Big Picture scrapbooking I have had on my hit list for ages after seeing some great work on UKS. Clean & Simple has had great reviews so it just had to be bought. Designing with type looks like a great book and really interesting to font/type geeks like me. Hoping to learn lots from all of these and I can take them away with me over the summer holidays yeah!
Also bought the matching pink and brown shoulder tote to go with my Tote-ally cool tote lol!
In between searching for all this I pre-ordered some new storage from Julie at Scrapbooking Castle. This will finally sort my storage nightmare. I have such a large work space but I have to accommodate so many things within my space as well as my scrapping. My filing cabinets and large bookcases are fit to bursting with all kinds of things I need to have around me. My poor papers and card only got proper plastic boxes a few weeks ago. Well now the hanging file and drawer system will make life much easier and fit under my work desk, its all good.
Also ordered some fab flower punches I have had my eye on for ages and Maggie pointed me in the right direction as where I could pick up a Retro Flower Punch, she sold it well over these last weeks on her stunning pages LOL! Add to all this a few Maya Road bits and bobs and it?s a small fortune and the end of my BIG stash shopping until the summer is over (She said!)
Well now I must go as kids will be coming though the door any minute now.
Hope you?re having a good day where ever you are and what ever you are doing. Hope the sun is shining with you as well as it is here in the West of Scotland.
Special waves to Sue (OS Sue lol!) ) who may be popping by again soon *waves*
