Well today I had the sewing bug! Anso’s class really got under my skin and sewing the mini book just made matters sooooooooo much worse teehee!

So out came my Basic Grey ‘Oh Baby Boy’ papers and one of my favorite pictures of Nicholas and off I went. The inspiration to scrap this came initially from the Scottish girls on UKS. They laid down a challenge to make an embellishment to be used on one of our own page layouts. I had been saving some wooden coffee stirrers to make a frame for this page and it was a perfect opportunity to do it.

As soon as Nicholas was away playing at his friends I got it done. Bit of acrylic paint, some sandpaper, a few fibers, embroidery thread, some buttons and voila! The next day’s challenge was to make the page for the embellishment. So it was just a matter of putting the sewing plan into action and deciding on a title format. In the end I used the GB alphas and stuck them onto mountboard circles I cut. Inked the edges and then had a right laugh cutting out a wavy strip and hand drawing a train track onto it LOL! Freehand is so not my ‘thing’ but I did it anyway and my thought was that most of it would be covered up by the title anyway.

I love the end result and I got a chance to journal my thoughts and feelings on my wee babe’s clothes. It has been one of my pure delights picking out clothes for him. Our local children’s boutique is a magnet and I love the ranges they store. This little number is by ‘Vanilla Park’ and I bought everything in the range they had in the shop!

I often have called this his ‘Casey Jones’ outfit and recently my husband said, when he saw I had written that down, “Who is Casey Jones?” Mwahahah! I am wayyyy to old it seems *blush* So now its just his ‘Train Driver’ outfit ;)
